Oceans Connect to create 200 new jobs in Liverpool

Leading outsourcing provider, Oceans Connect, is to relocate its global headquarters to Speke, Liverpool, following support from the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) and local partners, in a move that is set to create over 200 new jobs for the Liverpool City Region.

The company, currently based in Runcorn, will relocate and expand its UK function in Speke, which will involve transferring its head office function from London to Liverpool. It will safeguard the existing workforce currently based in Runcorn as well as creating a further 200 jobs at the new site.

The NWDA has approved a package of financial support from the Grants for Business Investment scheme to support the move, as well as supporting the company in identifying a suitable location.

Oceans Connect is a leading outsourcing provider, delivering tailored solutions to meet the needs of the UK's most customer focused businesses. With integrated operations in the UK and India, Oceans Connect offers a wide range of specialist voice, supply chain management, back-office solutions and process re-engineering services.

Mark Hughes, NWDA Executive Director of Economic Development, said:

"This investment is great news for the Liverpool City Region and the Agency is pleased to support the company's decision to locate its headquarters in Speke. This relocation will make a real difference to the local community, creating over 200 new employment opportunities as well as safeguarding existing jobs. Oceans Connect is also committed to investing in skills and training for its employees and so will add significant value to the local area."

Howard Sarna, Chief Executive of Oceans Connect, said:

"We are delighted to be expanding our investment in the Liverpool area. The positive experience we've had with our initial operation, coupled with the help and support provided by the NWDA and local partners, has led us to decide to locate our company headquarters in Speke. An educated and plentiful workforce, good building availability and a strong transport network makes the area around Liverpool Airport an ideal location for us to develop our business."

Lorraine Rogers, Chief Executive of The Mersey Partnership, said:

"The expansion of Oceans Connect is a real vote of confidence for the City Region and its workforce. TMP, Halton Borough Council, Liverpool Vision and NWDA have worked closely with Oceans Connect to secure this significant international investment for the City Region, and we look forward to continuing to support them."

Jim Gill, Chief Executive of Liverpool Vision, said:

"We have been working hard with our colleagues at The Mersey Partnership and the NWDA to bring this business and these important jobs to Liverpool. By convincing the company of the city's strengths as a quality business environment, including the availability of local skills through the local JET services, we have helped secure another significant investment for Speke."
