Grant for Business Investment (formerly known as Selective Finance for Investment in England or SFIE grants) provides help for investment projects which will increase productivity, skills and employment in the region. They are discretionary and usually take the form of a grant or occasionally a repayable grant. Generally this will be the minimum necessary for the project to go ahead.
All sizes of business from the eligible sectors can apply, but
the maximum level of grant available ranges from 10%-35% of the
total project cost depending on location and size of the business.
The level of grant will depend on where the project is based and
the size of your business and the demonstration that grant is
needed to enable the project to proceed. If your project is in one
of the region's key industry sectors, it will have more chance
of success.
Your business must serve or plan to serve more than a local market (i.e. not retailers, hairdressers, hotels, construction etc). Please check the eligibility flowchart (under 'Related Documents' on the right of this page) for further clarification.
